Cody McElligott vs Leeroy Buckley

Boxing Daily Report from the Ssali Promotions promoted show at Bradford Sports Centre, Bradford,  taking place on 06/08/2025:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the British-Northern England Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Cody McElligott (10 - 5 - 1) who hails from Leeds, UK and Leeroy Buckley(8 - 0) from York, UK.  Both McElligott and Buckley weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Nick Russell, and the three ringside judges are Iain Clark, Patrick Curtis and Nathan Magee.  

Round 1: 

Buckley lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to McElligott.  That has caused bad swelling  around the right eye.  
Buckley pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left uppercut followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.  
Buckley feints a cross, tricking McElligott into throwing a left uppercut counter.  Buckley avoids the shot and counters with a firm cross.
