Bryan Lockerby vs John Cromartie

Boxing Daily Report from the Hennessy Boxing promoted show at Geelong Baseball Centre, Geelong,  taking place on 09/08/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Australia-Victoria Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SBS1, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Bryan Lockerby (3 - 11 - 4) who hails from Melbourne, Australia and John Cromartie(6 - 8 - 4) from Melbourne, Australia.  Both Lockerby and Cromartie weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Clinton Waugh, and the three ringside judges are Gus Seward, Dom Clapperton and Alastair MacIntyre.  

Round 1: 

Cromartie tries to step out of his opponents range.  Lockerby connects with an overhand left.  
Lockerby switches the action to the outside and lands a cross.

Lockerby closes the distance.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Lockerby.  That has caused a minor cut .
