Peter Haden vs James Owens

Boxing Daily Report from the Australia National Finals 2025,  taking place on 14/03/2025 from Gold Coast, Australia:

The Gold Coast venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Light Flyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Peter Haden (11 - 15) who hails from Townsville, Australia and James Owens(8 - 3) from Adelaide, Australia.  

Round 1: 

Haden feints a left, and then lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Haden lands a solid jab.  
Haden quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Owens throws a left hook, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a sharp cross.  
Haden tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  Haden tries to land a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Haden lands two consecutive overhand rights to his opponents head.  
Owens steps inside.  Haden is on target with a sharp right hook.

Haden switches the action to the outside and finds the target with a sharp jab.  
Haden is looking to keep his distance and hits home with a cross.  
Haden sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Owens throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action and gives Haden time to recover.  
Haden steps away from his opponent.  Haden quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and finds the target with a solid jab.  
Haden lands a cross to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Owens sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Haden digs in a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Haden sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a jab.  
Haden digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Haden steps away from his opponent.  Owens lands a stinging jab.  
Owens closes the distance and tries to land a right hook, but Haden blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.

Owens manouvers Haden onto the ropes.  Owens connects with a right hook.  
Haden lands an overhand left followed by  two overhand rights to his opponents head.

Haden feints a left hook, and then lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.

Haden steps to the outside.  Owens hits home with an overhand left.  
Haden sidesteps to the right of his opponent and hits home with a cross.  
Haden feints a jab, fooling Owens into throwing a right hook counter.  Haden is waiting for the shot and counters with a right hook.
