Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 26/03/2037 from New York City, USA:

The New York City venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Ian Smith (43(1) - 7) who hails from New York City, USA and Ben Mattocks(0 - 2) from Knoxville, USA.  

Round 1: 

Smith is looking to close the distance and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.

Smith advances into close range and hits home with a left uppercut.  Smith clinches his opponent.  Mattocks leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Smith pivots to the left of his opponent.  Mattocks throws a left hook, but Smith ties up his opponent.  Smith is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Mattocks hits home with a sharp left hook.  
Smith attempts to land a cross, but Mattocks sidesteps and counters with a stinging right uppercut.  
Smith gets on the inside.  Mattocks tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Smith pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Smith pivots to the right of his opponent.  Mattocks throws a left hook, but Smith holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Smith pushes his forearm into Mattocks's face.  The referee warns Smith and breaks the clinch.  
Mattocks throws a left hook, but Smith clinches his opponent.  Smith is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Smith about fouling.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Smith's trainer is telling his fighter he is winning comfortably and should get on his bike for the remainder of the fight.

Smith attempts to land a left uppercut, but Mattocks dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut to Smith's body.  
Mattocks lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a cross to the body.
