Boxing Daily Report from the USA National Finals 2037,  taking place on 26/04/2037 from Richmond, USA:

The Richmond venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Middleweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Bruce Ballan (9 - 1) who hails from Buffalo, USA and Gethin Mortimer(26(14) - 11) from Boston, USA.  

Round 1: 

Ballan steps to the outside and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Mortimer advances into close range and hits home with a left hook.  
Ballan steps to the outside and lands a solid cross.  
Mortimer closes the distance and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Ballan is looking to keep the action on the outside and throws a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.

Mortimer gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a right uppercut to the head.

Mortimer sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Ballan is on target with a left hook.

Ballan steps to the outside.  Ballan sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Ballan tries to land a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Ballan goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref stops the action and gives Mortimer time to recover.  
Mortimer cuts off the ring, trapping Ballan in the corner.  Ballan is on target with a left uppercut.  
Mortimer drives a firm right hook into his opponents ribcage.  
Mortimer lands a left uppercut to the head, a right hook to the body and a left uppercut to the body.  
Mortimer lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
Mortimer senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Ballan and just needs the right shot.  Mortimer lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body, KNOCKING BALLAN DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  Ballan now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.

Mortimer is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Mortimer about fouling.  Ballan recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Mortimer throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Mortimer holds on to his opponent.  Mortimer leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Mortimer quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Ballan throws a right hook, but Mortimer holds on to his opponent.  Mortimer throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. Ballan uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Mortimer's kidney. The ref breaks Mortimer's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

Ballan throws a left hook, but Mortimer clinches his opponent.  Mortimer leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Ballan steps away from his opponent and tries to land a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a solid left hook.  
Mortimer lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Mortimer forces Ballan to retreat onto the ropes.  Ballan throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a solid right hook.  
Mortimer sidesteps to the left of his opponent and drives a potent left uppercut into his opponents body.  BALLAN IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  HE IS STILL STRUGGLING TO HIS FEET AS THE COUNT REACHES 10!  The winner by KO is Mortimer!
