Darryl Flanagan vs Mel Kernell

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 30/05/2037 from New York City, USA:

The New York City venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Darryl Flanagan (47(4) - 9) who hails from New York City, USA and Mel Kernell(0 - 8(1)) from Boston, USA.  

Round 1: 

Flanagan closes the distance.  Kernell throws a left hook, but Flanagan holds on to his opponent.  Flanagan pushes his forearm into Kernell's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Flanagan to stop fouling.  
Kernell connects with a stinging cross.  
Flanagan is on target with a right uppercut.  Flanagan holds on to his opponent.  Flanagan hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The ref breaks Flanagan's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Kernell digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  Kernell attempts to land a jab, but Flanagan parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut to Kernell's ribs.  
Flanagan is looking to close the distance.  Flanagan quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a solid left hook.  
Kernell connects with a firm left hook.  Flanagan ties up his opponent.  Flanagan pushes his forearm into Kernell's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Flanagan.  
Flanagan lands a right uppercut to the body, a left hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Flanagan steps inside and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Kernell throws a right hook, but Flanagan ties up his opponent.  Flanagan is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Flanagan and breaks the clinch.  
Flanagan lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Flanagan finds the target with a jab.  
Flanagan gets on the inside and throws a left uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a sharp right hook.  
Flanagan is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Kernell hits home with a left hook.  Kernell attempts to land a cross, but Flanagan sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Kernell connects with a solid left hook.  
Flanagan pivots from in front of his opponent.  Kernell throws a left uppercut, but Flanagan holds on to his opponent.  Flanagan is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Flanagan pushes his forearm into Kernell's face.  The ref stops the action and sends Kernell to the neutral corner.  He takes Flanagan's arm and signals to each judge that a point should be deducted!  
Flanagan walks Kernell onto the ropes.  Flanagan sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Kernell throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Flanagan gets on the inside and drives a right hook into Kernell's ribs.  
Kernell is on target with a solid left hook.  
Flanagan closes the distance and hits home with a firm right hook.  
Flanagan lands a double left hook to his opponents head.

Flanagan advances into close range and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Flanagan lands a cross to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Kernell throws a left hook, but Flanagan holds on to his opponent.  Flanagan hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. Flanagan uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Kernell's kidney. Kernell is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Flanagan lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Flanagan lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the body and a right hook to the head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Flanagan senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Kernell and just needs the right shot.  Flanagan whips in a nasty right hook to his opponents ribs.  KERNELL IS DOWN!  HE ISNT GOING TO BEAT THE COUNT!  The winner by KO is Flanagan!
