Joe Leishman vs Bradley Cowens

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 21/06/2037 from Miami, USA:

The Miami venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Joe Leishman (47 - 10) who hails from Tallahassee, USA and Bradley Cowens(0 - 3) from Houston, USA.  

Round 1: 

Leishman finds the target with a jab.  Leishman tries to land an overhand right, but Cowens blocks the shot and counters with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Cowens is looking to close the distance.  Leishman lands a left hook to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Leishman connects with a cross.  
Leishman is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Leishman quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Cowens sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Leishman lands a left hook.  
Leishman is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Leishman sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands three consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Cowens cuts off the ring, trapping Leishman on the ropes.  Leishman digs in a left hook to Cowens's body.  
Cowens steps inside.  Cowens sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Leishman throws a left hook, but is off-target.  Leishman holds on to his opponent.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Leishman is on target with a jab.  
Leishman is on target with an overhand right.  
Leishman lands an overhand left followed by a jab to his opponents head.  He then lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Cowens walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Cowens sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Cowens attempts to land a right hook, but Leishman dodges the shot and counters with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Leishman tries to step out of his opponents range.  Leishman feints a cross, and then connects with an overhand right.  
Leishman snaps his opponents head back with a stinging jab.  
Leishman is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Cowens hits home with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Leishman's trainer is telling his fighter to play it safe for the remainder of the fight.

Cowens steps inside and is on target with a right uppercut.  Leishman ties up his opponent.  The ref breaks Leishman's hold and signals for the fight to continue.
