Lucas Hoose vs Nick Merricks

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 12/07/2037 from Las Vegas, USA:

The Las Vegas venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Lucas Hoose (45(5) - 11) who hails from Henderson, USA and Nick Merricks(6 - 15) from San Antonio, USA.  

Round 1: 

Hoose is on target with a ramrod jab.  
Hoose is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Hoose gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Merricks quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook.  
Hoose gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Merricks sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Hoose throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Hoose sidesteps to the right of his opponent, but Merricks digs in a left hook to his opponents liver.  
Merricks feints a right hook, and then is on target with a jab.  
Merricks sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Merricks throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a solid cross.  
Merricks connects with a right hook.  
Merricks hits home with a left hook.  Hoose holds on to his opponent.  Merricks tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Hoose's kidney. 
Hoose lands a stinging jab.  
Hoose advances into close range and lands a left hook.  Hoose ties up his opponent.  Hoose pushes his forearm into Merricks's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Merricks quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Hoose lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Hoose steps inside and attempts to land a right hook, but Merricks blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.

Hoose gets on the inside and tries to land a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Hoose is on target with a right uppercut to Merricks's ribcage.  
Hoose lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Merricks quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Hoose hits the target with a sharp jab.  
Hoose advances into close range and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.
