Audric Giroud vs Noah Hilley

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Canada-British Columbia promoted show at Surrey Erving, Surrey,  taking place on 14/03/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Canada-British Columbia Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Audric Giroud (5 - 1 - 4) who hails from Burnaby, Canada and Noah Hilley(11 - 6) from Vancouver, Canada.  Giroud weighed in at 159 pounds and 9 ounces, while Hilley weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is James Clelland, and the three ringside judges are James Clelland, Spencer Clary and John Hendren.  

Round 1: 

Giroud is on target with a right hook.  As Hilley tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Giroud dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Hilley hits home with a right uppercut.  Hilley clinches his opponent.  Hilley is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Giroud closes the distance.  Giroud pivots from in front of his opponent.  Hilley throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref stops the action and gives Giroud time to recover.  
Hilley steps inside.  Hilley sidesteps to the right of his opponent and digs in a left uppercut to Giroud's body.  
Giroud steps inside and attempts to land a left hook, but Hilley slips the shot and counters with a right hook.

Hilley pivots to the side of his opponent.  Giroud lands a left hook.  Hilley ties up his opponent.  Hilley uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Giroud's kidney. The referee warns Hilley and breaks the clinch.

Hilley gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Hilley clinches his opponent.  Hilley uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Giroud's kidney. Hilley pushes his forearm into Giroud's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Giroud's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Giroud's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Giroud's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
