Kenji Nakanishi vs Kyo Izumi

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Japan-Fukuoka promoted show at Ryo Aoyama Gym, Fukuoka,  taking place on 28/01/2036:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Japan-Fukuoka Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Kenji Nakanishi (8 - 19 - 7) who hails from Kitakyushu, Japan and Kyo Izumi(5 - 24(1) - 4) from Fukuoka, Japan.  Nakanishi weighed in at 200 pounds, while Izumi weighed in at 199 pounds and 12 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Daichi Okabe, and the three ringside judges are Hiroki Shimabukuro, Yoshi Ogura and Naoki Hasegawa.  

Round 1: 

Izumi gets on the inside.  Nakanishi pivots to the left of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.  
Izumi lands a cross.  
Nakanishi steps to the outside.  Izumi tries to land a cross, but Nakanishi blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Izumi lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Izumi gets on the inside.  Nakanishi pivots from in front of his opponent and hits home with a left uppercut.  
Izumi advances into close range.  Nakanishi pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Nakanishi's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Izumi's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.

Nakanishi throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref ignores Izumi's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Izumi connects with a right uppercut.  
Izumi steps inside.  Izumi lands a left uppercut.  As Nakanishi tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Izumi.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.

Izumi gets on the inside and throws a left hook, but Nakanishi holds on to his opponent.  Izumi pushes his forearm into Nakanishi's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Izumi.
