Cortez Mare vs Santiago Ortiz

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Estadio Morelos, Ecatepec,  taking place on 29/03/2036:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Cortez Mare (5(5) - 0) who hails from Tijuana, Mexico and Santiago Ortiz(1 - 3 - 2) from Leon, Mexico.  Both Mare and Ortiz weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ximen Fleites, and the three ringside judges are Federico Villegas, Jose Saiz and Oihane Ventura.  

Round 1: 

Mare drives a right hook into his opponents ribcage.  
Mare is on target with a sharp left hook to Ortiz's body.  Mare clinches his opponent.  Mare tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Ortiz's kidney. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Mare about fouling.  
Mare gets on the inside and digs in a right uppercut to Ortiz's ribcage.  Mare holds on to his opponent.  Mare leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Mare pushes his forearm into Ortiz's face.  The referee warns Mare and breaks the clinch.  
Mare lands a right uppercut to the head, a left hook to the body and a left uppercut to the body.  
Mare lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Mare holds on to his opponent.  Mare hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. 
Mare sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Ortiz throws a right hook, but Mare clinches his opponent.  Mare is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Mare manages to force Ortiz into the corner.  As Mare tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Ortiz has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused minor damage to the nose.  
Mare is on target with a jab.  
Mare advances into close range and is on target with a firm right uppercut to Ortiz's ribs.  
Mare is on target with a left hook.  Mare holds on to his opponent.  Mare leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Mare gets on the inside and connects with a right uppercut.  
Mare lands a right hook.  
Mare manouvers his opponent into the corner.  Mare lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Mare pivots to the left of his opponent and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Mare is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Mare lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
As Ortiz tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Mare.  That has caused slight damage to the nose.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Ortiz's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Ortiz's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Ortiz's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Mare is on target with a left hook to Ortiz's ribs.  Mare tries to land a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Mare manages to force Ortiz into a neutral corner.  Mare sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Mare steps inside and is on target with a stinging left hook.  
Ortiz lands a cross followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Mare advances into close range.  Mare pivots to the left of his opponent and drives a solid left uppercut into his opponents ribs.  
Mare is on target with a right hook to Ortiz's body.  
Mare forces Ortiz to retreat onto the ropes.  Mare lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Mare advances into close range and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
It looks like Ortiz has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.

Mare sidesteps to the right of his opponent and digs in a sharp right hook to his opponents body.

Mare advances into close range and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Mare feints a right, and then tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.

Mare gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  Mare ties up his opponent.  Mare leans on his opponent using all his weight. Mare uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Ortiz's kidney. The referee warns Mare and breaks the clinch.  
Mare crashes a mean left hook to Ortiz's ribs.  ORTIZ IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  
Mare manouvers Ortiz into the red corner.  Mare drives a sharp right hook into Ortiz's body.  
Ortiz steps away from his opponent.  Mare hits home with a cross.  
Mare sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a cross.  
Mare lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Mare is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.

Mare advances into close range and lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Mare holds on to his opponent.  Mare throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Mare.  
Mare connects with a right hook.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Mare dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Mare advances into close range and attempts to land a right uppercut, but Ortiz parries the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Mare drives a sharp right hook into Ortiz's ribcage.  ORTIZ WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Ortiz recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Mare lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.

Mare walks his opponent into the blue corner.  Mare is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.
