Matthew Herard vs Ellis Meredith

Boxing Daily Report from the True North promoted show at Robert Lyell Gym, Vancouver,  taking place on 29/02/2036:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Canada-British Columbia Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Matthew Herard (7 - 3 - 2) who hails from Vancouver, Canada and Ellis Meredith(5 - 6 - 7) from Surrey, Canada.  Both Herard and Meredith weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Jacob Peairs, and the three ringside judges are Mark Jones, Michael Crosbie and John Hendren.  

Round 1: 

Meredith hits home with a left hook.  
Meredith throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Herard tries to land a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Meredith is looking to close the distance and throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Meredith ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Meredith pushes his forearm into Herard's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.
