Maiope Hotu vs John Bass

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Boxing promoted show at Vector Arena, Auckland,  taking place on 05/04/2036:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the New Zealand Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on TV One, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Maiope Hotu (11(6) - 3) who hails from Christchurch, New Zealand and John Bass(20(5) - 3(2)) from Manukau, New Zealand.  Both Hotu and Bass weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ian Laidler, and the three ringside judges are Jack Hislop, Kieran Beynon and Dominic Erwin.  

Round 1: 

Hotu is on target with a sharp right hook to his opponents body.  Hotu tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a solid cross.  
Hotu quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Bass throws a left hook, but Hotu ties up his opponent.  Bass is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Bass throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Bass sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits home with a cross.  
Hotu is on target with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Hotu cuts off the ring, trapping Bass on the ropes.  Hotu throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut to Hotu's body.  
Hotu throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Hotu gets on the inside.  Bass quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Bass lands a sharp left hook.  Hotu holds on to his opponent.  Hotu leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Hotu's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Hotu lands a left hook, right uppercut and a left hook to his opponents head.  
Bass steps away from his opponent.  Bass feints a right hook, and then hits home with a sharp overhand left.  
Hotu lands two left hooks followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Hotu ties up his opponent.  Hotu tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Bass behind the head. Bass hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Bass to stop fouling.  
Hotu lands a cross followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Hotu steps inside and walks Bass down, trapping him on the ropes.  Hotu pivots to the side of his opponent and is on target with a stinging right hook.  
Hotu lands a left uppercut followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Hotu connects with a solid left hook.  
Hotu digs in a left hook to Bass's body.  Hotu throws a left uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a solid right uppercut.  
Bass pivots to the left of his opponent.  Bass attempts to land a right hook, but Hotu blocks the shot and counters with a stinging right uppercut.  
Hotu lands a jab to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Bass connects with a left hook.  Hotu clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Bass pushes his forearm into Hotu's face.  The referee warns Bass and breaks the clinch.  
Bass throws a left uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a solid right uppercut.

Bass digs in a right uppercut to his opponents body.

Hotu gets on the inside and tries to land a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.
