Boxing Daily Report from the Simasiku Promotions promoted show at Manukau Taaffe, Manukau,  taking place on 12/04/2036:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the New Zealand-Auckland Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are John Gray (19 - 10(1) - 5) who hails from North Shore, New Zealand and Spencer Maver(11 - 12(3) - 6) from Manukau, New Zealand.  Gray weighed in at 159 pounds and 5 ounces, while Maver weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Jake Smith, and the three ringside judges are Cody Master, Brin Stackpole and Lloyd Rease.  

Round 1: 

Maver is looking to close the distance.  Gray pivots to the left of his opponent.  Gray tries to land a right hook, but Maver dodges the shot and counters with a cross.

Gray voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Maver is whaling away with hooks, but Gray keeps his defence tight.  Maver connects with a right hook.
