Valeh Khalili vs Owen Cowens

Boxing Daily Report from the Mandale Boxing Promotions promoted show at Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre, Melbourne,  taking place on 13/05/2036:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Valeh Khalili (14(10) - 0 - 1) who hails from Istaravshan, Tajikistan and Owen Cowens(8 - 4) from Canberra, Australia.  Khalili weighed in at 160 pounds, while Cowens weighed in at 159 pounds and 3 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Paul Lawrie, and the three ringside judges are Paul Lawrie, Gethin Mitchell and Aaron Yale.  

Round 1: 

Cowens gets on the inside.  Khalili lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Khalili lands two straights followed by a jab to his opponents head.  Khalili throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a firm left hook.

Cowens steps inside and manouvers Khalili onto the ropes.  Khalili drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Cowens is on target with a stinging right uppercut.
