Charles Leiper vs Ahmet Merich

Boxing Daily Report from the Smokin Joe promoted show at Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles,  taking place on 11/11/2036:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Slim Charles Leiper (36(30) - 3(2)) who hails from Saskatoon, Canada and Ahmet Merich(30(3) - 11(6)) from Istanbul, Turkey.  Both Leiper and Merich weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Leeroy Hughen, and the three ringside judges are Zafa Rafiq, Vicente Quijas and Josh Fall.  

Round 1: 

Merich steps inside and is on target with a right hook.  Merich tries to land a left hook, but Leiper parries the shot and counters with a firm left uppercut.  
Leiper tries to keep the action at long range.  Leiper sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits home with a stinging overhand right.  
Leiper lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Leiper tries to step out of his opponents range.  Leiper sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Merich drives a cross into Leiper's body.  
Leiper lands a solid cross.  
Merich attempts to land a jab, but Leiper sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Leiper hits the target with a stiff jab.  
Leiper pivots to the side of his opponent and digs in a right hook to Merich's body.  
Merich is on target with a right uppercut.  
Leiper tries to keep the action at long range.  Leiper sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a jab to the head followed by a cross to the body.  
Merich attempts to land a jab, but Leiper sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Merich lands a jab to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Merich snaps his opponents head back with a hard jab.  
Leiper lands a stinging jab.  
Leiper lands a sharp jab.  
Leiper steps to the outside and lands a cross, overhand right and a jab to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Merich quickly recovers. 
Merich is looking to close the distance and throws a left uppercut, but Leiper ties up his opponent.  Merich is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Leiper tries to land an overhand right, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Leiper finds the target with a jab.  
Merich gets on the inside and walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Merich tries to land a left hook, but Leiper slips the shot and counters with a firm left uppercut to Merich's liver.  
Leiper switches the action to the outside.  Merich finds the target with a stinging jab.  
Leiper lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Leiper pivots to the side of his opponent and hits home with a stiff jab.  
Merich throws a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Leiper lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Merich is looking to close the distance.  Leiper digs in a solid left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Leiper sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a straight 1 - 2.  He then lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Merich's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Merich's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Merich is looking to close the distance.  Merich pivots to the left of his opponent.  Merich is on target with a left hook to Leiper's body.  Leiper holds on to his opponent.  Merich pushes his forearm into Leiper's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Leiper steps away from his opponent and lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands an overhand left to the head followed by a cross to the body.  
Leiper lands a firm cross.  
Leiper hits the target with a hard jab.  
Merich is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  He then lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Merich manages to force Leiper onto the ropes.  Merich pivots from in front of his opponent.  Merich attempts to land a cross, but Leiper sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Leiper strikes his opponents body with a solid cross.  
Merich tries to land a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Leiper switches the action to the outside and lands a solid cross.  
Merich gets on the inside.  Merich sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Merich connects with a left hook.  Leiper ties up his opponent.  Merich pushes his forearm into Leiper's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Merich to stop fouling.  
Leiper steps away from his opponent and is on target with a ramrod jab.  
Leiper feints a cross, and then lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Leiper sidesteps to the left of his opponent and drives a hard jab into his opponents face.  
Merich walks Leiper down, trapping him on the ropes.  Leiper connects with a left hook.  
Leiper lands a left uppercut followed by a cross to his opponents body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Merich quickly recovers. 
Merich gets on the inside.  Leiper lands a FEARSOME left hook.  MERICH IS HURT!  
Leiper tries to step out of his opponents range.  The right shot from Leiper could be enough to force the stoppage!  Leiper lands a right hook followed by a cross to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a cross followed by a right hook to his opponents head, AND MERICH IS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 7.  It looks like Merich has now recovered from that shot earlier.  
Merich steps inside and attempts to land a left hook, but Leiper blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Leiper lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Leiper lands a jab to Merich's body.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Merich's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Merich throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a firm left uppercut.  
Leiper lands a straight 1 - 2.  He follows up the attack and lands an overhand right to the head, a jab to the body and a jab to the head.  
Merich cuts off the ring, trapping Leiper on the ropes.  Merich sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Merich tries to land a jab, but Leiper parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Leiper lands a left hook followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Leiper tries to step out of his opponents range and lands an overhand right followed by a jab to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Merich almost instantly gets his legs back.

Merich is on target with a left hook.  Merich tries to land a left uppercut, but Leiper blocks the shot and counters with a solid right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Leiper sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a jab, cross and an overhand right to his opponents head, AND DROPS MERICH!  He tries to rise on shaky legs but Merich cant beat the count!  The winner by KO is Leiper!
