Mason Mullins vs Corey Smailes

Boxing Daily Report from the Ringside Promotions promoted show at Albany Capital Centre, Albany,  taking place on 17/10/2036:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Mason Mullins (4(2) - 0) who hails from Kansas City, USA and Corey Smailes(17 - 15(1) - 8 - 1(NC)) from Oakland, USA.  Both Mullins and Smailes weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Paul Santistevan, and the three ringside judges are Justin Giancola, Francesco Prosperini and Patrick Moffitt.  

Round 1: 

Mullins tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a stiff jab.  
Mullins feints a cross, tricking Smailes into throwing a right uppercut counter.  Mullins springs the trap, countering with  a solid cross.  
Mullins is looking to keep his distance and finds the target with a jab.  Mullins tries to land a cross, but Smailes blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Mullins feints a left hook, and then finds the target with a jab.  
Mullins tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Smailes advances into close range.  Mullins pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Mullins lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Smailes recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Mullins lands two jabs followed by a cross to his opponents head.

Mullins tries to keep the action at long range and lands a cross to the head, a jab to the body and a jab to the head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Mullins attempts to land a jab, but Smailes sidesteps and counters with a cross.  Smailes recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Mullins lands a double jab to his opponents head.  He then lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Mullins is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a straight 1 - 2.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Smailes almost instantly gets his legs back.

Smailes is looking to close the distance and throws a left hook, but Mullins ties up his opponent.  Mullins uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Smailes behind the head. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Mullins lands two left hooks followed by a right hook to his opponents head, DROPPING SMAILES TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 7.  Mullins ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Mullins pushes his forearm into Smailes's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  Smailes almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Smailes walks Mullins onto the ropes.  Smailes sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Mullins lands a stinging cross.  
Mullins tries to step out of his opponents range and lands two jabs followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Mullins lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Mullins tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a hard jab.  
Mullins lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Mullins backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Smailes tries to tag Mullins on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!  Smailes is on target with a left hook to his opponents liver.  
Mullins is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Mullins lands a jab, cross and a jab to his opponents head.  
Mullins lands with a spiteful jab.  
Mullins steps away from his opponent and lands a ramrod jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Smailes's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.

Mullins steps away from his opponent and is on target with a stinging jab.  
Smailes closes the distance.  Mullins throws a right hook, but his opponent avoids the punch.  Mullins ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Mullins pushes his forearm into Smailes's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Mullins to stop fouling.  
Mullins lands a jab followed by  two straights to his opponents head.  
Mullins lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Smailes steps inside.  Mullins lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Mullins switches the action to the outside and SLAMS a big overhand left into his opponents face.  IT LOOKS LIKE SMAILES WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Mullins is looking to force the stoppage!  Mullins lands a left hook to the body, a cross to the head and a left hook to the body.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a right hook to the head, AND SENDS SMAILES TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  Smailes now seems to have got his legs back.  
Mullins lands with a hard jab.  
Mullins is looking to keep his distance and lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.

Mullins lands an overhand right to the head, a cross to the head and a jab to the body.
