Leon Richards vs Oscar Wightman

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Boxing promoted show at Stub Hub Center (Tennis), Los Angeles,  taking place on 22/11/2036:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the Americas Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fox Sports, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Leon Richards (23(14) - 5(1) - 1) who hails from Georgetown, Guyana and Oscar Wightman(28 - 18(7)) from Wichita, USA.  Richards weighed in at 135 pounds, while Wightman weighed in at 134 pounds and 3 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Ben Banos, and the three ringside judges are Stuart Purcell, Sam Dunkin and Haaris Hamad.  

Round 1: 

Richards strikes his opponents body with a cross.  
Richards gets on the inside.  Wightman is on target with a right hook.  
Wightman pivots from in front of his opponent.  Richards lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Richards lands a stinging jab.  
Richards lands a right uppercut followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Wightman recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Richards is looking to keep his distance and lands a solid cross.  
Wightman is on target with a cross.  
Richards advances into close range and lands a right hook.  
Richards lands a straight 1 - 2.  He then lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Wightman manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Wightman connects with a left hook.  
Wightman drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Richards steps inside and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Richards advances into close range and lands a right uppercut, right hook and a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Wightman tries to land a cross, but Richards sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Richards gets on the inside.  Richards pivots from in front of his opponent and DETONATES a HUGE left hook on his opponents face.  WIGHTMAN HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He manages to get up at 5.  
Richards lands with a hard jab.  
Wightman is looking to keep his distance.  Richards throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Richards gets on the inside and hits home with a left hook.  
Richards lands a firm jab to Wightman's body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Wightman's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Wightman's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Richards sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Richards lands a right uppercut followed by a cross to his opponents head.  Richards attempts to land a jab, but Wightman blocks the shot and counters with a right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Wightman sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a jab.  
Richards lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Wightman walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Wightman hits home with a cross.  
Wightman feints a left, and then attempts to land a jab, but Richards slips the shot and counters with a right hook.

Wightman tries to keep the action at long range.  Richards lands an overhand left followed by a jab to his opponents head.

Richards whips in a nasty left uppercut to his opponents liver.  IT LOOKS LIKE WIGHTMAN WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Wightman almost instantly recovers. 
Richards snaps his opponents head back with a stinging jab.  
Richards is on target with a sharp cross.  
Wightman cuts off the ring, trapping Richards on the ropes.  Wightman sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Richards is on target with a jab.

Richards closes the distance.  Richards senses Wightman is in trouble...he is looking to finish him off!  Richards is on target with a HUGE cross.  WIGHTMAN HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He manages to get up at 5.  It looks like Wightman has now recovered from that shot earlier.  
Richards is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands two consecutive overhand lefts to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Wightman quickly recovers. 
Richards advances into close range.  Wightman drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Wightman is on target with a right hook to Richards's body.

Richards lands a jab to the head followed by a cross to the body.  
Richards is looking to close the distance and digs in a firm right hook to Wightman's ribs.
