Fanuco Calix vs Diego Pardo

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Copacabana Palace, Rio de Janeiro,  taking place on 31/10/2036:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Fanuco Calix (7(5) - 0) who hails from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Diego Pardo(2 - 1(1)) from Brasilia, Brazil.  Calix weighed in at 243 pounds and 10 ounces, while Pardo weighed in at 241 pounds and 13 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Eloy Neve, and the three ringside judges are Ulises Domingues, Cortez Carias and Santiago Macario.  

Round 1: 

Pardo attempts to land a right hook, but Calix blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.

Calix closes the distance and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Calix clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Calix pushes his forearm into Pardo's face.  The ref breaks Calix's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

Calix connects with a solid left hook.  Calix holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Calix pushes his forearm into Pardo's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Calix.

Pardo throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Calix walks Pardo down, trapping him in the blue corner.  Calix lands a right hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  As Pardo tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Calix dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Calix lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND SENDS PARDO SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 4.  Calix holds on to his opponent.  Calix is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  Pardo quickly recovers. 
Calix lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  Calix ties up his opponent.  Calix uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Pardo's kidney. 
Pardo lands a left hook.  
Calix steps inside and throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the punch.  Calix clinches his opponent.  Calix throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. 
Calix lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  He then lands a right hook, left uppercut and a left hook to his opponents body.  
Calix drives a sharp left uppercut into his opponents liver.  
Calix lands a cross to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Calix slams a hurtful left hook into Pardo's liver.  DOWN GOES PARDO!  He beats the count, getting up at 6.  
Calix lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Calix connects with a stinging cross.  
Calix is looking to close the distance.  Calix sidesteps to the right of his opponent and hits home with a firm left hook.  
Calix lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
Calix finds the target with a jab.  Pardo now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Calix lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Pardo recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Calix pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Pardo's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Pardo's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Pardo quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Calix lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Calix manouvers his opponent into a corner.  Calix lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  Calix clinches his opponent.  Pardo tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Calix behind the head. 
Calix pivots from in front of his opponent and digs in a sharp right hook to Pardo's ribs.  
Calix lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Calix lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Calix lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Calix is on target with a right hook to Pardo's body.  
Calix gets on the inside and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  He then lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Calix walks his opponent into the corner.  Calix digs in a right hook to Pardo's body.  
Calix lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Calix throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Calix digs in a firm left hook to his opponents body.

Calix is on target with a telling right hook to his opponents body.  IT LOOKS LIKE PARDO WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Pardo almost instantly recovers. 
Calix gets on the inside and crashes a mean left hook to Pardo's ribs.  PARDO IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  
Calix digs in a firm left hook to his opponents ribs.

Pardo lands a right hook.  
Pardo steps inside.  Calix lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Calix is on target with a cross.  
Calix sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits home with a stinging left hook.  
Calix lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.
