Gareth Drennan vs Mel Sandison

Boxing Daily Report from the Smokin Joe promoted show at Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles,  taking place on 23/12/2036:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Gareth the Sledge-hammer Drennan (57(35) - 3(2) - 1) who hails from Anaheim, USA and Mel Sandison(16 - 7(4) - 3) from Nassau, Bahamas.  Drennan weighed in at 147 pounds, while Sandison weighed in at 146 pounds And 6 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Peter Spang, and the three ringside judges are Noel Cadwalader, John Rhydderch and Amon Scroggie.  

Round 1: 

Sandison sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Drennan lands a right hook to the body followed by a jab to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Sandison quickly recovers. 
Drennan EXPLODES a HUGE overhand left into his opponents face.  SANDISON WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Sandison recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Sandison attempts to land a cross, but Drennan sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut to his opponents ribs.
