Franco Mercedes vs Angel Badia

Boxing Daily Report from the Atsu Promotions promoted show at Santo Domingo Norte Sabina, Santo Domingo Norte,  taking place on 21/01/2037:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Dominican Republic-Santo Domingo Super Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Franco Mercedes (4 - 4 - 1) who hails from Santo Domingo Este, Dominican Republic and Angel Badia(11 - 12 - 6) from Santo Domingo Este, Dominican Republic.  Both Mercedes and Badia weighed in at 115 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Selestino Tijerina, and the three ringside judges are Jaguar Nazario, Diego Cendejas and Cipriano Lujan.  

Round 1: 

Mercedes tries to keep the action at long range.  Badia sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Mercedes throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action and gives Badia time to recover.
