Cisco Tio vs Edmundo Macario

Boxing Daily Report from the Brodie Promotions promoted show at The SND Arena, Asuncion,  taking place on 14/03/2037:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the Paraguay-Asuncion Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Cisco Tio (31(13) - 12(10)) who hails from Asuncion, Paraguay and Edmundo Macario(15 - 6 - 4) from Asuncion, Paraguay.  Tio weighed in at 140 pounds, while Macario weighed in at 140 pounds And 13 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Montel Requena, and the three ringside judges are Fanuco Mandes, Diego Baez and Ricardo Rita.  

Round 1: 

Tio is keeping his hands low...it looks like he wants his opponent to throw first.  Macario tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Tio lands a double jab to his opponents head.

Macario gets on the inside.  Tio drives a solid right hook into Macario's ribcage.  
Tio lands a jab, cross and a jab to his opponents head.  
Macario steps inside.  Tio is on target with a left hook.  
Tio switches the action to the outside and hits home with a firm cross.

Tio is looking to keep his distance and hits the target with a ramrod jab.

Macario forces Tio to retreat into the corner.  Tio lands a jab.

Tio switches the action to the outside and tries to land a cross, but Macario sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Macario is looking to close the distance and cuts off the ring, trapping Tio on the ropes.  Tio is on target with a left hook.  
Macario advances into close range.  Macario sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Macario throws a left hook, but Tio clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Tio pushes his forearm into Macario's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Tio to stop fouling.  
Tio tries to keep the action at long range and lands with a spiteful jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Macario's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Macario's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Tio steps to the outside and hits home with a solid cross.  
Macario throws a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut to Macario's body.  
Tio connects with a firm cross.  
Macario sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with a left hook.

Macario closes the distance.  Tio connects with a right hook.  Tio ties up his opponent.  The ref breaks Tio's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

Macario is not fighting as well as he'd like.   He catches his opponent with what looks like an intentional butt!  The ref signals for the action to continue.  He either hasnt noticed the blatant foul or doesnt care!

You can sense Macario is getting frustrated in there.   He steps inside, but then strikes Tio with a blatant low blow!  The ref takes no action over the foul, despite complaints from Tio.

Tio tries to step out of his opponents range.  Macario quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Tio is on target with a potent overhand right.  IT LOOKS LIKE MACARIO WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Macario quickly recovers. 
Macario gets on the inside.  Tio digs in a left hook to his opponents liver.  
Macario quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Tio strikes his opponents body with a jab.  Tio tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Tio lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.

Macario is desperate to make more of an impact on his opponent.    He throws a hook, and catches Tio low!  The ref doesnt appear to have noticed the foul and signals for the action to continue.
