Leon Probert vs Santiago Vela

Boxing Daily Report from the Los Moreco Promotions promoted show at Estadio Ruben Deras, Choloma,  taking place on 04/05/2037:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Leon Probert (1 - 0) who hails from Nassau, Bahamas and Santiago Vela(13 - 9 - 2) from Havana, Cuba.  Probert weighed in at 130 pounds, while Vela weighed in at 129 pounds and 8 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Venacio Manzanares, and the three ringside judges are Vicente Trigo, Cipriano Lanza and Alejandro Sala.  

Round 1: 

Probert is on target with a jab.  
Probert gets on the inside.  Probert quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Probert is on target with a left hook.  
Probert is looking to close the distance and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Probert pivots to the left of his opponent and lands two left hook's to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Probert sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left uppercut to the body.  
Probert walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Probert drives a right hook into his opponents ribs.  
Probert is looking to keep his distance and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  He then lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Probert steps inside.  Probert voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Vela is whaling away with hooks, but Probert keeps his defence tight.  
Vela attempts to land a right hook, but Probert sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Probert is looking to close the distance and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Probert ties up his opponent.  Probert is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Probert and breaks the clinch.  
Probert lands a jab followed by  two straights to his opponents head.  
Probert closes the distance and hits home with a sharp right hook.  Probert ties up his opponent.  Probert tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Vela behind the head. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Probert connects with a left uppercut.  
Vela sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Probert lands a solid jab.  
Probert closes the distance and lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Vela attempts to land a jab, but Probert sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Vela pivots to the side of his opponent.  Probert lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Probert tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Vela quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Probert lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Probert gets on the inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Vela pivots to the left of his opponent.  Vela throws a right hook, but Probert ties up his opponent.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Probert lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Vela's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Vela's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Probert gets on the inside and lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents ribs.  Probert ties up his opponent.  Probert uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Vela's kidney. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Vela throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a solid right uppercut.

Vela switches the action to the outside.  Probert lands two jabs followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Probert lands with a stinging jab.  
Probert hits home with a right hook.  Probert holds on to his opponent.  Probert leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Vela tries to step out of his opponents range.  Vela sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Probert hits the target with a spiteful jab.

You can sense Vela is getting frustrated in there.   He turns Probert and throws an uppercut into his opponents groin area!  The ref signals for the action to continue.  He either hasnt noticed the blatant foul or doesnt care!
