Dillon Buchanan vs John Maguire

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Boxing promoted show at Robina Stadium, Gold Coast,  taking place on 20/06/2037:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  Also on the line is the Australia Super Welterweight.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Dillon Buchanan (22(14) - 1) who hails from Brisbane, Australia and John Maguire(21(7) - 0) from Melbourne, Australia.  Both Buchanan and Maguire weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Giorgio Lombardo, and the three ringside judges are Nathan Skiver, Lee Hyland and James Arras.  

Round 1: 

Maguire closes the distance.  Maguire pivots to the left of his opponent and connects with a right hook.  
Maguire walks Buchanan down, trapping him on the ropes.  Maguire lands a left hook.  Maguire throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Maguire lowers his hands, trying to provoke his opponent to attack.  Buchanan lands with a hard jab.  
Buchanan sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Maguire lands a jab.  
Buchanan steps to the outside.  Maguire attempts to land a jab, but Buchanan blocks the shot and counters with a firm cross.  
Buchanan lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Buchanan is looking to keep his distance and connects with a cross.  
Buchanan lands a cross to the head followed by a jab to the body.  
Maguire drives a right hook into Buchanan's body.  
Buchanan switches the action to the outside.  Buchanan sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Maguire connects with a cross.  
Maguire steps inside.  Buchanan connects with a right hook.  Buchanan wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Maguire dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Buchanan is on target with a solid left uppercut.  
Maguire digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Maguire is on target with a left hook to Buchanan's body.  
Buchanan is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Buchanan sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Buchanan hits home with a cross.  Buchanan attempts to land a cross, but Maguire parries the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Maguire closes the distance and is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  Buchanan clinches his opponent.  Maguire is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Maguire and breaks the clinch.  
Buchanan is on target with a left uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Maguire lands an overhand right.  
Buchanan lands a cross to the head, a jab to the body and an overhand left to the head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Maguire recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Maguire is looking to close the distance and cuts off the ring, trapping Buchanan on the ropes.  Maguire sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Buchanan pivots to the left of his opponent and connects with a right uppercut.  
Buchanan is looking to keep his distance.  Maguire is on target with an overhand right.  
Buchanan lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Maguire closes the distance and is on target with a right hook.  Maguire throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a solid left uppercut.  
Buchanan steps to the outside and is on target with an overhand right.  Buchanan tries to land a cross, but Maguire dodges the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Maguire gets on the inside.  Buchanan attempts to land a left hook, but Maguire sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Buchanan steps to the outside.  Buchanan sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Buchanan tries to land an overhand right, but Maguire sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Maguire steps inside.  Buchanan quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Maguire wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Buchanan has taken some damage there.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Maguire's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Maguire gets on the inside.  Buchanan pivots to the side of his opponent.  Buchanan tries to land a left hook, but Maguire blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Buchanan lands a jab, overhand left and a jab to his opponents head.  
Maguire manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Maguire attempts to land a left hook, but Buchanan slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Buchanan lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Buchanan is on target with a left hook to Maguire's body.  
Maguire closes the distance.  Buchanan pivots to the side of his opponent and connects with a big left hook.  MAGUIRE WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Buchanan steps to the outside.  Buchanan senses Maguire is in trouble...he is looking to finish him off!  Buchanan lands three consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right uppercut, left hook and a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND DROPS MAGUIRE!  He unsteadily tries to get up but is unable to beat the 10 count!  The winner by KO is Buchanan!
